Project Description

Small section of the Tarbell Trail

Tarbell trail is a 24 mile loop trail – this post covers a small section of the trail.  I started at Grouse Vista trailhead and hiked about 2.5 miles of the trail.  I had a great view point of Mt. Hood, a semi-great viewpoint of Jefferson, and a great view of Mt. St. Helens.  The trail also went through a small boggish section with several small creeks and a wooden bridge.  This is a great hike for forest views of various kinds.  The forest growth changed greatly in the small section.

I wanted a sunset photo of Mt. Hood, and these images were taken from a clear cut section about 1 mile up the trail from the trailhead.  This trail is very well marked and easy to follow.  I plan to take it again and go all the way to Hidden Falls.
