Catherine Creek Trails

Catherine Creek West Loop - Adventures with Dotty

Cliffs about Columbia River

There are 3 different trails leaving from the Catherine Creek Trail Head – one is an all-access trail that is paved for strollers and wheel chairs.  It has interpretive signs that describe the local area, flora and fauna. It also has some great overlooks of the Columbia River and Catherine Creek Waterfall.  This section is just over 1 mile in length and is a total loop.  Very easy access.

Catherine Creek West Loop

This is the main loop of the area.  It is 2.5 miles in length and is a loop.  The trail goes through fields of grass and flowers in the spring.  Today the Grass Widow’s were in full bloom.  Beautiful purple flowers.  There are different species of wild flowers that bloom all spring in this area.  The trail goes along the edge of some cliffs that overlook that Columbia River and Rowland Lake.  On a clear day there are great views of Mt Hood as well.  The trail is both rocky and grassy in different areas.  For such a short trail this hike offers great views, wild flowers, great places for a picnic, and a great hike.
